I need to go back to school. I thought I could do OK with just a high school diploma, but no one wants to hire you for anything other than a burger flipper. You don’t even always get that job either. They usually want someone that they’ll be able to make manager one day so you have to have some extra school. Anyway, I need something that will pay a lot better than that. I’ve been looking into some surgical tech programs. The work doesn’t look to difficult. At least, Id be able to do it I think. I’m sure it just gets easier once you get through the courses and actually understand what it all involves. I’ve looked at job offers around here too, and there’s no shortage of tech positions that are waiting to be filled. I think I’ll give it a shot. Its a big investment, but I have to do something different.

The cons are the reason I personally chose to live in a single room my freshman year. I still had to share a dirty, malfunctioning bathroom that had shower drains clogged with hair. I still didn’t have any air conditioner and I had to set up a ton of fans in my room just to maintain a normal body temperature. In addition, I didn’t form any long lasting bonds with my fellow dorm inhabitants because I was isolated.
Was it the right decision to have a single? I don’t know. Dorm life is tough for everyone, and exciting too. You have to make the most of it.
So today I finally made the decision, I told my boss that I couldn’t do it more, he gave me some spill about being a strong member of the family of associates but I had mentally checked out of this jobs weeks ago. I’m already on the fast track of becoming a medical assistant, I found the right program to learn and I’m already half way through my education, the time has come to cut ties with my unappreciative work.
